I wrote something for my son about a really serious, really sensitive subject to touch. He’s just a toddler so talking to him about it now would do no good and I’m really not sure when the appropriate time or age would be for me to discuss it with him. So I wrote it down, as sort of notes. It’s very basic, and a lot more can be added to it. Anyway, if any of you would care to read it, it’s over on my poetry blog.

I solved my no pets problem. See, I really really really don’t want pets, ever! But I’m pretty sure that Rafael will ask for an animal at one point, all children do. My solution to this problem is that he can have a pet pigeon. And these will be my rules:
Now, I will just have to worry about having a bird feeder and having him fill it with bird food so his pigeon can eat from it.
(Is this cruel? I really am not good with animals)
Rafael just came into the room and said, “Hello, mami. How are you?”
